What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses custom-made aligner trays to straighten teeth without the need for metal brackets or wires. These aligner trays are made of virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing these aligner trays will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements planned for you by Dr. Watson. You change your own aligner trays every two weeks at home and come in for an evaluation every 6 weeks until treatment is complete. The best part about Invisalign is that almost no one will know you are straightening your teeth.
Can anyone get Invisalign? Or are there certain requirements?
If interested in Invisalign, we will set up a consult for you to make sure you are a candidate. We evaluate a number of things, some of which include; your bite, the number of rotated teeth present, amount of spacing vs crowding and the patient’s desired end goal. The majority of patients can be treated with Invisalign, although there are some who we recommend see an orthodontist for placement of regular braces.
How long does it take in comparison to braces?
Generally speaking, treatment times are comparable to that of regular braces. However, it is possible to treat the smallest alignment discrepancies with Invisalign in as little as a few months. Average treatment times with Invisalign generally run between 12-18 months.
How much does it cost?
Cost is directly related to the length of treatment time and number of aligner trays used. Cost is estimated and financial arrangements made prior to any treatment being rendered.
